Available membership categories:
As an employee of a company/organization for which you have risk responsibilities, you and a colleague (also an employee with risk responsibilities) will be your company’s individual members (we refer to you as a Professional member). Both your memberships are included in the $575 annual Society dues. The membership belongs to the organization, not the individual.
If you are employed by a firm that provides products or services to those in the risk management profession (e.g., broker, underwriter, attorney, accountant, actuary or outsourced risk manager), you are eligible for Association Membership.
Associates have all the privileges of membership, but may not serve as voting members of boards or committees. The membership belongs to you, not to your company/employer.
Must be fully retired from the risk profession, and an Organizational or Associate member of RIMS immediately prior to your full retirement.
This membership is offered to full-time professors or Deans in a program that delivers risk management, insurance or business education; current curriculum vitae are required in order to qualify for educational membership.
Offered to full-time undergraduate or graduate student working towards a degree in risk management, insurance or business. A copy of your current unofficial transcript is required in order to qualify for student membership.
Professional or Associate members are offered a transitional membership upon separation from their current place of employment. Transitional Membership is renewable once, or a maximum of 2 years from the date of separation and membership terminates upon acceptance of employment.
